1. Good Introduction - A good introduction is the basic of a debate. You can’t just start a topic, just like that. It has to have
an introduction to set the tone for debating. Introductionneeds to be peppy so that it grabs the audience’s attention and
garners interest in the topic.

2. Choice of the area & the topic of Debate - Choice of the area of Debate depends upon the purpose for which you are
writing the debate. Once the debate area is clear, the next step is choosing the topic. However, if it is a competition, the topic
may be chosen for you.

3.Main Points of your Debate – Plan your points, clarify them and Take your information and outline your Main Points.
These Main Points should be exactly what you are trying to get
your opponent to believe about your position. Under your
Main Points use Capital Letters like A, B, C to write sub points to explain why your Main Points are right. Under your sub
points flesh out your argument with examples or illustrations
and mark them with Lower case letters. This practice makes it easy to memorise your debate and recall it efficiently. Support
your Argument with Examples.

4. Logic & Information — Your points must not be elongated unnecessarily, but should be poignant and informative. They
have to be logical. You should introduce with eventual logic which don’t sound like an assemble/epitome of various kind of random knowledge.

5. Humor — No matter how serious the debate is, it shouldn’t sound/look boring. There must be attractive interesting
keywords and humor.

6. Make conclusion — Mention what you learnt from the debate. Even the wrong one may be right sometimes and the right one may be wrong too. So, point out the final lesson.
After all, a debate is done to identify what is right, not who / which team is right.
So, make a neat and clean conversation of debate, judt like writing a drama. Keep it simple ‘coz simplicity is attractive
and emphasize on the subject matter.

WAEC Threatens To Cancel Entire Results Of Candidates Caught With Mobile Phones

West    African    Examination Council    (WAEC) has said any candidate that  comes into the examination hall with mobile phones or any other electronic gadgets will    have his or her entire results cancelled, as it begins  registration for second series of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)  for private candidates. This was contained in a statement signed by the Council Head of National Office, Olu Adenipekun. He said, “Candidates who engage in examination malpractice will not only have their results cancelled, but may be prosecuted”. However, the HNO opined that Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated as “ Walk-in-Candidates ” provided they register not less than twenty four hours to the scheduled time of the paper (s) they intend to write, saying their fee is 25,000.
