10 arrested over WAEC exams leakages

The council said several websites that were used to disseminate the leaked papers had also been closed down.
This was revealed by the public affairs director of WAEC, Agnes Teye Cudjoe, in an interview with Accra-based Onua FM.
Her comments come after President John Mahama praised the council for a leakage-free Basic Education Certificate Examinations this year.
“I’m pleased also to note that WAEC has risen to the occasion to deal with the shameful examination malpractices that have plagued examinations over the past several years.
“This year, I am proud to note that our BECE examinations have passed with no incident recorded,” the president said over the weekend.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) had liaised with the Bureau of National Investigations to supervise the transportation of the papers to the various exam centres to prevent leakages.
The move followed widespread leakages of this year’s WASCCE exam papers.
