HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ASKS JAMB TO REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATION FORMS
Members of the House of
Representatives have asked
the Federal Ministry of
Education to cut the cost of
Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board (JAMB)
application forms by 50%.
Similarly the House members
equally asked the Federal Ministry
of Education to equally ensure
that the cost of other serviceslike
Change of Course and institution
form be either free or be
reduced to at least N500.
According to James Faleke (APC,
Lagos) who proposed the
motion, JAMB has become a
profit making venture to the
detriment of educational and
social development of the
country.
He reminded the members of the
house that JAMB as a
government agency is not set up
for profit making but to promote
educational development of the
young citizens in pursuit of their
professional careers.
At the end, the house
mandated its committee on
basic education to ensure
compliance and report back in
two weeks.
