Form 3 student stabs maths teacher to death with compass

When the news broke that a  form 3 student had stabbed his maths teacher to death with a compass, many wondered how such a thing could occur. The sad incident happened during a maths class lesson. According to sources, the 15-year-old form 3 student had pre-planned to harm the teacher. Following some misunderstandings in earlier encounters, he vowed to kill the teacher. WAEC withholds results of 48,855 candidates as 2019 WASSCE is released

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The Council, in a statement, said it will soon dispatch the results to the various schools and candidates can contact the heads of their schools for their results. However, the entire results of 48,855 candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into various cases of examination malpractices detected during and after the conduct of the examination. GES approves subjects for study leave

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has approved some subjects for study leave without pay for the 2019/2020 academic year. In a press statement issued to the Ghana News Agency and signed by Ms Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations of the Service, the approved subjects applied to both teaching and non-teaching staff. The subjects include Physical Education, Information Communication Technology, French, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Integrated Science. ADVERTISEMENT Others are Special Education, Guidance and Counselling, Ghanaian Language, Early Childhood, Visual Arts, History, Geography, Religious Studies, Social Studies, Technical Programmes, among others.
